September 16,2017:

Girl was found to be aged only 11 years as compared to around 18 years shown in Aadhaar Card.

A student in Class III at one of Bulandshahr’s most prominent schools, was rescued hours before her wedding.

Her age is estimated by the authorities to be not more than 11 years.

The Social Activists, braving the death threats, coordinated with the school officials and the Police to halt the proceedings.

To ensure they could go through with ceremony , girl’s family had even got the Aadhaar card which showed her to be nearly 18 years of age, the Officials stated.

Girl is now in protective custody of School Authorities.
