The total death toll in the BRD Hospital since August 7 has now touched 71 due to various causes.
Allahabad HC has directed UP Govt. and State’s Director General of Medical Education to file a detailed counter affidavit within the six weeks on a PIL on death of the children in a State-run Hospital in Gorakhpur,UP.
Lucknow Bench of HC has fixed October 9,2017 as next date of the hearing.
Bench comprising of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Daya Shankar Tiwari passed order on PIL filed by Activist Nutan Thakur after hearing, AG Raghavendra Pratap Singh and the Medical Education Counsel Sanjay Bhasin.
Advocate General had opposed the PIL by submitting that the State Govt. has taken each and every possible measure in this matter and shall take all the possible action as per the report submitted by Chief Secretary.
Till yesterday, death toll in BRD Hospital since August 7 was 71 due to the various causes including the encephalitis.
Some of the deaths have been alleged to have been caused by the shortage of oxygen, a claim which has been dismissed by the UP Govt.
