Dawood Ibrahim’s Two key UK properties seized by British Treasury

Agencies say that Dawood Ibrahim invested a large chunk of money in the UK and in Dubai and India.

In a boost for the Indian agencies, Authorities in the UK have seized properties belonging to the fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim.

Dawood Ibrahim’s name appears on latest UK Treasury Department’s “Consolidated List of the Financial Sanctions Targets”.

Assets which have been frozen include properties in Midlands.

Dawood owns a hotel in Warwickshire and residential properties across Midlands, according to a report.

Treasury sanction document lists three recorded addresses for Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan including one called The White House in seaside Clifton area in Karachi. It lists 21 aliases used by Don.

Sanctions prohibit transfer of the funds to anyone on list and freezes any assets that targets may hold in UK.

Indian Investigators had been pursuing Dawood Ibrahim’s assets in UK and have visited Midlands in 2015 to identify his assets.

According to an ED, a large chunk of Dawood Ibrahim’s money has been invested in UK and in Dubai and in India.

Dawood is on India’s most wanted list for his role in 1993 Mumbai blasts.

The UN documents identify him as an associate of Al Qaeda while US Treasury Department declared him as a global terrorist in the year 2013.
