Does the MPs who disrupt functioning of Parliament deserve their Salary and allowances?

Entire Winter Session of Parliament was washed away and wasted by Opposition’s continuous disruptions.

Serious concerns are being expressed over the disruption of Parliament by “a section of MPs”.

Lately President Pranab Mukherjee had expressed displeasure on stalled business in the Parliament.

Senior BJP Leader LK Advani was too unhappy over the ligjam in Parliament during the Winter Session.

Now while welcoming the decision, demonetisation  Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati of Kashi Sumeru Pithadhiswar today expressed his concern over conduct on opposition MPs.

According to him the government should take action against them. Marshals shall be used to remove the the shouting MPs disrupting Parliament.

A demand is being raised that those who disrupt the Parliament should not be paid salary.

Allowances of all those MPs who disrupt the Parliament should be cut during the period they disrupt the house.

Indian Tax Payers paid Rs.176 crore to its 543 Lok Sabha members in salaries and expenses over the last year.

This means Rs. 2.7 lakh is spent per month per Member of Parliament (MP), as per new official data.

MPs in our country are entitled to Rs.50,000 per month as salaryapart from Rs.45,000 as constituency allowance.

They are also paid Rs.15,000 as office expenses and Rs.30,000 for their secretarial assistance.

During the time when Parliament is in session, they get a daily allowance of additional Rs.2,000.

MPs are also reimbursed by the Govt. for 34 flight trips and unlimited rail and road travel for the year on official business.
