Fugitive Honeypreet Insan moves Delhi HC for transit Anticipatory Bail

A lookout notice has been issued against Honeypreet by the Haryana Police.

Honeypreet Insan, who has been on run following conviction of the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the two rape cases, has approached Delhi HC seeking the transit anticipatory bail.

Honeypreet alias Priyanka Taneja is adopted daughter of jailed Dera Chief,now tops the list of the 43 persons ‘wanted’ by Haryana Police in connection with the incidents of the violence that had followed Ram Rahim’s conviction in Rape cases.

Honeypreet’s Lawyer Pradeep Kumar Arya has stated that they have filed Anticipatory Bail petition in the Delhi HC and the matter would be mentioned tomorrow before the Bench headed by the Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal for an early hearing.

Ram Rahim was convicted by Special CBI Court situated in Panchkula on August 25,  for 20 years of rigorous imprisonment following which the violence and arson had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa districts of Haryana which had left about 41 people dead and several others injured.
