Govt. tells Parliament: Jails in the Country has 325 Death row Convicts till 2016 end

UP has highest number of death row convicts at 68.

As many as 325 death row Convicts are lodged in the different jails across the country till 2016, the Lok Sabha was informed.

Gangaram Ahir, Minister of State for Home, stated highest 68 number of death row convicts are lodged in Uttar Pradesh till December 2016.

There are 41 convicts with the capital punishment in Maharashtra, 38 in the Madhya Pradesh, 30 in Bihar and 22 in Karnataka.

The number is 16 in Kerala, 15 in Chhattisgarh besides the other States.
