Indefinite fast by Advocate

Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has allowed an advocate to conduct the indefinite fast in support of his demand to implement Tamil as official language of High Court.

Passing orders on a petition filed by  Advocate Bhagavath Singh, Justice S S Sundar imposed the various conditions to allow protest.

Petitioner was directed to give an assurance affidavit to Police regarding maintenance of the tranquillity.

He is directed to provide the names of members participating in fast and of those of the political leaders lending their support to fast in person.

Judge allowed the plea to observe fast at Kalavaasal from July 27,2017.

Singh approached the Court after the Police did not respond to his plea to the protest.
