Justice M.V. Muralidharan of Madras High Court got an unsigned letter from a teachers’ organisation making bribery allegations against him. He has forwarded the letter to the assistant commissioner of Police, CCB, Salem City, for a probe.
In his order, the High Court Judge said that Saravanan of Salem had filed a writ petition to quash order of his removal from service passed by the Periyar University where he worked as a deputy registrar. The petition was pending.
While Justice Muralidharan got an unsigned letter from the General Secretary, Teachers & Administration Employees Dalit Koottamaippu of Periyar University on 24th August.
Letter alleged that the HC Judge had got a bribe to pass the verdict in favor of Saravanan.
Taking serious view of this matter, the Judge directed the Salem Police to produce the General Secretary & other office-bearers of the Koottamaippu in his Court.
When they were produced before the Judge on 30th August, they disowned the letter, saying some 3rd party might’ve sent it in their name.
