October 18,2017:

Principal Bench of NGT which was headed by Justice Raghuvendra S Rathore expouned that,”Respondent shall shift protestors, agitators and people holding dharnas to alternative site at Ram Leela Maidan, Ajmeri Gate”.

Delhi Govt, New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and the Police Commissioner has been directed by NGT (National Green Tribunal) to immediately stop all the activities of dharna, protest, agitations, assembling of the people, public speeches, using of etc., at the Jantar Mantar road.

NGT have the directions on the pleas filed by the residents of Jantar Mantar Road,

NGT has directed NDMC to remove all the makeshifts/ temporary structures, the loudspeakers and the public address system from said stretch of the Jantar Mantar road.

The Bench further added that,”People participating in the dharna, protest, etc. and raising slogans as well as giving the speeches through the amplifiers and the loud speakers have no right to compel the petitioner and others people living in the area to listen the same and tolerate it day and night.
