While Schools must sing it at least once a week either on Monday or Friday while National song must be crooned in the offices once a month.

Issue pertains to the plea moved by K Veeramani, who failed to clear the written test for post of BT Assistant as he answered that song was written in Bengali.

Opposing his submission, Government Pleader contended that song was originally written in Sanskrit and was translated later in Bengali later.

To clear ambiguity, HC Judge directed Advocate General to find out the right answer. On July 13, When plea came up for hearing  AG clarified that original language of ‘Vande Mataram’ was Sanskrit but written in Bengali script.

High Court has stated that Government must include Veeramani in Teacher Selection Process.
