Legal battle between Supreme Court and Calcutta High Court Judge Justice CS Karnan took an amusing turn today after Justice Karnan ordered psychiatric medical examination of seven Supreme Court judges who ordered the same on him.
Justice Karnan expounded,”I direct the DGP, New Delhi to take the seven accused and produce them to psychiatric medical board attached to the AIIMS and conduct the medical test”.
Justice Karnan also threatened to issue suo moto suspension order against the West Bengal DGP, “if he comes to check my mental health forcefully.”
Justice Karnan move’s may be nullified by earlier Supreme Court’s order against him which restrained Courts or tribunals to take cognizance of the orders passed by him.
Supreme Court had earlier today ordered medical examination of the Justice Karnan in a contempt case for accusing the 20 current and former judges of higher judiciary of corruption.
