Supreme Court’s order assumes importance as for the last few months, both N Srinivasan & Shah were participating in the Board’s meeting as the nominees of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) & the Saurashtra Cricket Association, despite being disqualified.

3-judge bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra indicated that it’s willing to deliberate upon afresh issues like membership of the associations, no. of selectors & no. of votes.

The bench, also comprising justices DY Chandrachud & AM Khanwilkar, asked BCCI & state associations concerned to deliberate on implementation of Justice RM Lodha committee recommendations, which were accepted by the Supreme court, “as far as practicable” in the 26th July SGM.

The bench said “The SGM shall be held at the time & date fixed, the meeting shall be attended only by the office bearers of the associations, not by nominees/representatives.”
