On Friday, Supreme Court stayed admissions process for the engineering courses in IITs, IIITs, NITs and the other colleges over ‘bonus marks’ issue.

IITs had awarded bonus marks to all the students for the wrong questions in entrance exam.

Apex Court hinted that it might follow its own verdict from 2005, when it held that the bonus marks for the wrong question can be given only to those who attempted the wrong question.

Counsel on behalf of IITs’ submitted before Apex Court that evaluating the test papers again would have been very time consuming process.

Apex Court has scheduled next hearing for the coming Monday.
