Three AAP MLAs booked by Delhi Police

3 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs have been booked by Delhi Police for allegedly assaulting a woman in the Delhi Assembly premises.

FIR against the 3 AAP legislators was registered after the woman filed a complaint alleging that they’d abused & thrashed her in Delhi Assembly premises on 28th June. However, the Aam Aadmi Party rejected these charges, calling it “vendetta politics”.

In her complaint, the woman said that Okhla AAP MLA- Amanatullah Khan, Malviya Nagar MLA- Somnath Bharti & Tilak Nagar MLA- Jarnail Singh made abusive remarks & assaulted her in Delhi Assembly premises.

The victim said that “I had gone to see the proceedings of the House; but couldn’t get the pass for the Visitor’s Gallery; and while I was standing outside the building, a group of men, who were engaged in a scuffle, came towards me.”

“They pushed & shoved me, I was later taken to a room & kicked,” she claimed in her complaint.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh & Delhi unit spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj rubbished these allegations & moreover, accused the Delhi Police of becoming pawn in the hands of the Centre.

“This is vendetta politics by the Centre. We’re surprised that police has arrested only 15 of our MLAs (since coming to power),” said Sanjay Singh.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that the record of Delhi Police has always been really poor when it comes to cases against the AAP MLAs, the force always faces flak by the judiciary whenever they take such cases to the court.”
